City warned off McSheffrey

The latest striker to be linked with a move to Carrow Road, Coventry City's Gary McSheffrey, appears unlikely to be bothering the estate agents of Norfolk at any time soon.

Micky Adams, Coventry's former Leicester City and Fulham manager, was quick off the mark in setting the record straight about the possibility of losing his leading scorer to another club in the Championship.

"This club has big plans for the future and that means you don't go selling your best players," Adams told the Coventry Evening Telegraph.

McSheffrey, a product of the Sky Blues' youth programme, was rumoured in the Sunday People to be heading to Norwich along with his former team mate Calum Davenport, who spent time on loan at Carrow Road this season. The stance taken at the Ricoh Arena, however, seems similar to that taken by Nigel Worthington and co over Dean Ashton.
