County's boss Gudjon Thordarson worked with Thorne at Stoke and was reported in his homeland to be preparing a bid to entice the former Cardiff stiker away from Carrow Road. But, while Thordarson was complimentary about his former charge, he did not seem particularly hopeful of anything happening, largely due to financial considerations.
“Peter is a smashing lad, I know him well from our Stoke days, but I haven't spoken to him about joining us,” said Thordarson. “I would think he would be a little out of our price range anyway.
“I know what he is capable of after working with him at Stoke, but I haven't spoken to the boy about him coming to the club.”
