Signed for £3 million from Crewe in the January transfer window, Dean Ashton brings a fantastic goal scoring record to Carrow Road.

As expected of a product of Alexs’ youth academy Dean has been brought up with the idea of playing good football, something that should stand him in good stead in the yellow and green.

73 goals from only 176 games at Crewe and international recognition at both England U-19 and U-21 levels highlight what an excellent striker the boy is, with boy being the operative word; Dean has achieved all this and is still only 21.


At 6’1” Dean adds height to the City front line, as well as two good feet and an intelligent football brain.


His starts so far for the Canaries have been encouraging, with Deano looking more assured with every game. Two goals from seven starts shows he can score at the highest level, with his lob against Manchester City featured in BBC’s goal of the month competition.
