Robert Green

The custodian of City’s net, Greeno is one of the nations greatest young goalkeeping hopes. Named in last years Division One team of the year Robert has made the step up to the Premiership well, producing some good all round performances and pulling off some amazing saves into the bargain.

While away days at Manchester City and Blackburn bring back bad memories of soft goals conceded, it is a measure of the keeper’s mentality that two of his best saves have come in the same matches.

Despite conceding the most goals in the league, Robert still has his admirers with Manchester United, Middlesborough, and especially Arsenal linked with possible moves for him January.

And his place in the England squad is now almost guaranteed; even if he has been deployed as a left back in training sessions!

Whatever league City are in next season it looks almost certain Green won’t be with them, but with a new contract signed last summer a sizeable transfer fee should be acquired if he does move on.

And judging by the celebration that followed the equaliser against Middlesborough, I’d bet money that Norwich will be the first result he looks out for.
