Alnwick linked with Burnley switch

Paul Lambert could face a goalkeeping crisis with Ben Alnwick reportedly being lined up for a £1million by Owen Coyle.

Cyle, who has seen his number one Brian Jensen excel in victories over Manchester United and Everton, needs back-up and has earmarked former England under-21 keeper Alnwick, currently on loan at Norwich, as the man.

Alniwck, who went off injured during last night's 4-1 defeat to Sunderland and had to be replaced by diminutive striker Cody McDonald, is now doubtful for Saturday's trip to Hartlepool. This leaves only Michael Theoklitos, unseen since his disastrous debut in the 7-1 defeat to Colchester, and youngsters Declan Rudd and Jed Steer.
