Ashton and Green start, Hughes on bench

Dean Ashton has recovered from the groin injury that threatened to rule the top scorer out of this afternoon's Championship clash with Plymouth Argyle.

Goalkeeper Robert Green is also a comforting sight at the top of the team sheet at the end of a week in which he has been strongly linked with a move to nouveau-riche Premiership makeweights Portsmouth.

Midfielder Andy Hughes, whose battling and leadership qualities have endeared him to the City faithful since his arrival from Reading in the summer, is also deemed fit enough to earn a place on the bench. He will have to wear a protective mask if he does come on, because his cheekbone remains fragile after being broken.

Jason Jarrett starts his second match in a row for the Canaries in a swift return to Home Park, where he had a spell on loan until the end of December.
