Ashton IS injured, now so is Green

Concerns about the situation surrounding Dean Ashton have turned into worries about the health of Robert Green after a sickening collision with Marlon Harewood led to the City keeper being stretchered off unconscious.

Ashton, who was left out of the squad for the 2-1 defeat to West Ham for no more reason than a groin strain, was again confirmed by Nigel Worthington to be staying at Carrow Road until a massive offer comes in.

"I don't want him to leave, the board don't want him to leave the club and it would take one hell of an offer to make him leave the club," said Worthington in one of the most unequivocal statements of the day.

Green, meanwhile, will end a day that began with talk of a move to Charlton in a hospital bed. He took a knee to the head from Harewood as both players went for a low cross in the 89th minute. The England international left the field after six minutes of treatment to be replaced by Darren Ward, and the extent of the injury is not yet known.
