Ayala issues Canaries target

Norwich's new signing Daniel Ayala has revealed his determination to become a regular in the side after joining from Liverpool. The 20-year-old Spanish defender joined the Canaries on a four-year deal on Monday after being snapped up by boss Paul Lambert and he then enjoyed a 65-minute run-out for the reserves in midweek.

Ayala, who spent time on loan with Hull City and Derby County last term, is now looking to enjoying a first-team run-out at Carrow Road on Sunday when Stoke City are the visitors.

"It wasn't a difficult decision to join Norwich," said Ayala in the Pink 'Un. "I was at Liverpool but it was difficult - I have to play first team football and that's why I came to Norwich - to play first team football."

Anywhere you go, you have to fight for your place. So I am happy to have the competition and, hopefully, I can be in the first XI on Sunday. It is a big challenge to stay in the Premier League, but I think Norwich have the quality to stay in the Premier League this season."
