He told BBC Radio Norfolk: "It's a great feeling to be loved. Hopefully something happens in January.
"I'm going to wait until January comes and maybe if there is something to do then do it straight away, then I can concentrate on my football."
And boss Paul Lambert insists he will do his utmost to keep hold of the former Coventry centre-half.
"His performances have been to the highest standard," he said.
"The finances of the club are what they are, I'll try everything I can to do it, but we'll have to wait and see."

Norwich defender Leon Barnett on Ipswich
Barnett grabbed his first Norwich goal in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Leeds, helping the Canaries to their fourth draw on the bounce and eighth place in the Championship, level on points with Nottingham Forest in sixth.
"I think the whole team want to win games, a draw doesn't feel like a loss but that's where we want to be, winning games," added Barnett.
"Eighth is not where the team wants to be, I think everybody knows we can push much further and we have at the start of the season."
City have kept within touching distance of the play-off places, despite just one win in their last eight games, as they head into Sunday's East Anglian derby with rivals Ipswich Town.
Roy Keane's side are three points behind City after suffering three straight defeats.
"It'll be my first derby here and it's good to play in those games," said Barnett.
"Obviously it's going to be fierce. Both teams will be going at it and we might have to keep our heads, play the way we do and not get sucked into their football."
