Boothroyd plays down speculation

Former Watford manager Aidy Boothroyd believes Norwich have a new manager in mind already and that he is not it.

Boothroyd, speaking on BBC Radio Five Live during coverage of Preston's local clash with Burnley, speculated that clubs will normally have a replacement lined up when dismissing a manager mid-season, and stated that he had no contact with Norwich.

Bryan Gunn is in charge of the team for this afternoon's Barnsley match, with Paul Ince now the favourite to replace Glenn Roeder.
