The hearing related to an incident involving the Norwich manager and referee Phil Dowd during the Canaries' game against Sheffield United on September 7th.

Worthington was sent from the sidelines half-an-hour into the controversial game, which saw the Blades' Iffy Onuora dismissed for elbowing Malky Mackay.

Worthington, who was given a one-game touchline ban and fined £500 for his actions said: “I am disappointed with the outcome, especially as there was nothing in it. It was a very petty situation brought before the panel by the referee.”

“I said certain things but there are things that the referee claims I said that I certainly did not, no way,” he said.

The touchline ban will be in effect for the game at home to Walsall on December 21st.
