Canary Talk - Canary fans on a 'Pilgrimage' from far and wide

And, just like those of us lucky enough to live within an hour's drive of Carrow Road, these Norfolk exiles will be desperately hoping to see Norwich follow up the 2-0 victory over Cardiff in midweek with another three points and the double over Plymouth.

At Tuesday night's post-match press conference, Bryan Gunn made it absolutely clear that he would have to prepare for this 'must-win' game by bringing his players back down to earth, after the exciting manner in which they out-played and eventually overcame the high-flying Bluebirds.

The pairing of Alan Gow and David Mooney, Gunny's latest loan signing, was a revelation; as was the introduction of debutant, Cody McDonald as a substitute for Mooney late in the game. Perhaps of more significance was the cohesive appearance of the team, which looked to be much better balanced now that the new manager and his coaching staff have had time to work with the players, both old and new.

Wes Hoolahan set up Mooney for the first goal, while Gow's perfect lay-off released McDonald for the goal in stoppage time, which sealed the win and made the occasion even more memorable. David Marshall still had to make three excellent saves to ensure a second clean sheet in three games, while the players in front of him did a very good job of containing the visitors.

However, Gunny will be telling his players to look forward and resist any temptation to rest on their Tuesday night laurels, as they prepare themselves for the game against the Pilgrims, who will be totally committed to opening up a seven point gap between themselves and the Canaries.

Blackpool succeeded in opening up a six point gap last Saturday, but this week Norwich City will have the vocal support, not only of more than twenty thousand Carrow Road regulars, but also the diehard Canary fans from around the globe. Surely this will be enough to tip the balance in favour of the home team, rather than the team from Home Park?
