Ched given senior nod

Manchester City striker Ched Evans, who scored 10 goals during a lengthy loan spell at Norwich this season, has earned a call-up to the Wales squad.

Evans, 19, is already in the under-21 squad for tonight's clash with England at Wrexham. His performances for them, coupled with his efforts for the Canaries, have convinced John Toshack to give him a chance with the seniors for the end of season friendlies with Iceland and Holland.

Ched joins former Norwich stars Craig Bellamy and Carl Robinson in the squad which has no place for Robert Earnshaw, currently mulling over offers from the Championship following a disastrous season in the Premier League with Derby.

Norwich boss Glenn Roeder will be at the front of the queue should Sven Goran Eriksson, or potentially another manager at the City of Manchester Stadium, allow Evans out on loan or a permanent transfer next season.
