Chelsea defender joins

Glenn Roeder continued to bolster his defensive resources yesterday when Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand joined on loan for the rest of the season.

Bertrand, 18, ended a loan spell at League One side Oldham on the first of January, and Roeder moved swiftly to bring the England under-19 international to Carrow Road to provide competition in one of Norwich's weaker areas.
