City can build on derby says Holt

Last updated : 30 November 2010 By BBC Sport

"We'll build on it, it's more of a build up," 29-year-old Holt told BBC Radio Norfolk.

"It's done, we've won it, everyone can have the bragging rights, enjoy it and when next week comes it will be different again.

The Canaries had been frustrated in their four previous outings, having been held to draws by Leeds, Reading, Millwall and Burnley.

But victory in the East Anglian derby has kept them among the play-off spots and just six points off an automatic promotion place.

Shuuuuuuuuuuuuuuush!! That's to all the anti-Holt Canary Callers every week

"We've earned that, the last few weeks we've been pushing hard and working hard, but not getting the rewards," Holt added.

"It's a big win for us in the sense we needed the three points on the board and to get it against Ipswich was fantastic."

Holt's treble was his first in a league game and took his Championship tally for the season to seven, after only finding the net four times in his previous 18 outings in the league.

"That's my first ever league hat-trick, and to do it in the manner and the game in which it came and in front of the Barclay is fantastic," he said.

"The goals have been coming, I've been unfortunate the last few weeks, I've had things blocked, things hitting defenders or the post.

"It's nice just to get the goals flowing again and hearing your name from the fans."
