City linked with 'best in the world'

Fresh from having axed a number of his backroom staff, Norwich boss Glenn Roeder has been linked with a swoop for a man described as 'the best at what he does' by none other than England's Rugby World Cup hero Jonny Wilkinson.

Steve Black, who is best described as a conditioning coach, worked with Wilkinson on the mental side of his game while at Newcatle Falcons, arguably his greatest claim to fame and success.

However, Black also has a long history working in football, beginning with a role in Newcastle United's meteoric rise during Kevin Keegan's first spell in charge. Keegan, who knows a thing or two about motivation, has called him 'the best one-to-one coach in the world'. He also helped Peter Reid as Sunderland gained promotion in 2004, assisting at Fulham and with the British Lions squad in between.

Black was present at Carrow Road for the final home game of the season against QPR and looks likely to be given a prominent role as Roeder looks to shake up the club from top to bottom in what is set to be a busy summer.
