He then made two further appearances under Peter Grant at the end of the 2006/07 season but then suffered a displaced fracture of the tibia and fibula during an Academy match against Chelsea.
Renton was handed a professional contract in the summer of 2008 having regained fitness and joined local side King's Lynn on loan to get more first-team football.
With first-team chances limited at Carrow Road, he has spent the first part of this season on loan at Scottish Second Division side Brechin.
