Clark set for Terriers post

Norwich City's money men are in talks with their Huddersfield Town counterparts about a compensation package for Assistant Manager Lee Clark.

Clark, the former Newcastle, Fulham and Sunderland midfielder, joined Norwich almost as soon as Glenn Roeder moved into the Carrow Road hotseat a little over a year ago. At 36 he is young to become a manager, but has several years of coaching experience at Craven Cottage and St James Park.

Roeder was adamant last week that his protege would be going nowhere but, having rebuffed reported overtures from Carlisle United recently, Clark is now expected to become Stan Ternent's replacement at the Galpharm Stadium.

The departure would leave a gap in Roeder's backroom staff which could test the Norwich boss' contacts list and persuasive skills. Roeder has worked with a number of big names in his time and could call on some experienced figures.
