Negotiations to take England international goalkeeper Rob Green to Charlton Athletic are in progress, according to Norwich's Chief Executive Neil Doncaster.

Sunday newspaper reports had linked Green with a switch to The Valley to join Iain Dowie's side and, while premature, they are on the right lines. Doncaster said talks are at "an early stage" and that any further progress would be reported as and when it happens.

Green is currently recovering from the groin injury that kept him out of the World Cup, with his deputy Paul Gallacher turning in another accomplished performance in yesterday's 3-2 win over Luton at Carrow Road. Twenty six-year-old Green has less than a year left on his Norwich contract and is keen to move back to the Premiership. he has previously been linked with Portsmouth and Fulham.
