Davenport going nowhere - agent

West Ham United defender and Norwich target Calum Davenport is staying at Upton Park.

Davenport's agent, Warwick Horton, insisted today that his client will remain at the Premiership club to fight for a first team place with the likes of Matthew Upson, Anton Ferdinand and Danny Gabbidon.

Peter Grant had been linked with the former Carrow Road loan star as he seeks to bolster wafer-thin defensive ranks. Another player City were reported to be signing, Manchester United defender Ryan Shawcross, scored his second goal in two appearances for Stoke last night.

Grant is likely to seek another Premiership youngster on loan, although there have been rumours suggesting Celtic defender Darren O'Dea could be signed in a £350,000 deal.
