Davenport to leave Spurs?

Tottenham Hotspur could be set to sell one of their many young British prospects, alerting a number of Premiership and Championship clubs, including Norwich City.

Calum Davenport, who enjoyed a successful loan spell at Carrow Road last winter, remains well down the pecking order at White Hart Lane, where manager Martin Jol can call upon England internationals Ledley King, Michael Dawson and Anthony Gardner in the centre back slots.

Davnport, a former England under-21 international, joined Spurs for £1.5million from Coventry two years ago, but has been loaned out to Southampton and West Ham, as well as Norwich.

The Daily Mail believes that Jol, linked with moves for Portsmouth's Matthew Taylor and Wigan's Pascal Chimbonda, would be ready to accept £1million for Davenport, a fee that will surely alert Nigel Worthington, who is thought to have bid in the region of that figure to retain the player last January.
