Defiant Worthy vows to fight on

Despite renewed calls for his head, Norwich boss Nigel Worthington remained defiant over his position at the helm of the Canaries.

A group of fans stayed back after the Carrow Road defeat to local rivals Ipswich to voice their concerns at the ability of the current management to lead the club forward. After the team's failure to win so far in 2006, Worthington was sympathetic but unmoved.

"Everyone is entitled to their opinion, that's what the game is all about," said Worthington. "Do I like losing? No I don't. Do supporters like it? No, they don't.

"Everyone has a goal in life and I know what mine is - it's to win games of football for Norwich and to be here for a long time."
