Doc's ban shorter than feared

Glenn Roeder received a limited boost today ahead of tomorrow's swift return to action following a disappointing away day at Coventry's Ricoh Arena.

The defeat to the Sky Blues, as resounding as a 1-0 can be, saw both Gary Doherty and Darrel Russell collect the brace of yellow cards that lead to a red.

For Russell, a second dismissal in two appearances means that the three match suspension from which he was making his return is now swiftly followed by another two matches on the naughty step.

Doherty's second was his tenth caution of the season and, with the combination of this landmark and getting his marching orders, a two-match ban was also expected. The time of year, however, means it will only be a single match suspension.

In other news ahead of tomorrow night's match with high-flying Stoke, Darren Huckerby could feature, although he is only rated as 50/50.
