Doherty to miss three months

Glenn Roeder will move to bring in another centre back after the news that Gary Doherty will be out for three months with an ankle injury.

Doherty, who has just signed a new contract, was hurt by a tackle in the match against Ahlafors. He sat out the second match of the Swedish tour as well as last night's clash with his former club Tottenham Hotspur.

Roeder has already brought in Dejan Stefanovic, who marked his debut with an early own goal last night, and John Kennedy to take his number of central defenders to four. However with 'The Doc' missing for such a long time, he will now bring in another body.

Youngster Elliot Omozusi, on loan from Fulham, filled in last night, but is clearly not considered a natural choice in the centre.
