Dreaded vote of confidence for Worthy

The Canaries have amassed a paltry three points out of a possible 18 and languish one place off the foot of the table despite having played four home matches out of six so far. According to Mr Munby, however, the suits at the club are still convinced that Worthington is the man to turn things around.

"It's just not on the agenda. It's unthinkable," Mr Munby told the club's official website www.canaries.co.uk when pressed on the possibility of a managerial switch.

City now have a break while international hostilities are resumed, with goalkeeper Robert Green once again involved in the England set up. When they return, they face what could be a make or break week for their increasingly beleagured boss, beginning with a televised clash at home to Plymouth Argyle before trips to Watford three days later and a Sunday lunchtime feast in the shape of the first East Anglian derby in two seasons.
