Earnshaw, 27, who joined the Rams from Norwich a year ago for £3.75million, signed a three year contract at the City Ground and will cost Colin Calderwood £2.65million.
Norwich boss Glenn Roeder is believed to have attempted to bring Earnshaw back to Carrow Road on loan in January and had been linked with a summer swoop.
