Four Norwich Players Hit With Sick Bug

Last updated : 14 January 2004 By Thomas Rooney
All four players have been stuck in thier beds yesterday after catching unspecified bugs. Worthington is now crossing his fingers in the hope that the four players concerned will be avaliable for selection.

Worthington also expressed his delight in the way the players have reacted in the last couple of days since the shock 1-0 home defeat to Bradford.

“We've had two excellent days of training since the Bradford defeat - and the players have been nice and bright,” said Worthington after picking up his second Nationwide League Division One manager of the month award yesterday.

“The only trouble we have got at the moment is a little sickness bug that is floating about. I'm just hoping that goes away over the next couple of days and everyone is all right for the Rotherham game.

“Four players have gone down with it and they are all at home in bed trying to get rid of the bug at this moment in time.

“You can't train in that sort of state because obviously you'd just get weaker and weaker, plus other people might catch the bug, so we are keeping them away from the training ground. We want to try and build them up and get them right - and keep everybody else fit.”

If the foursome do fail to make it then Norwich will have to call upon academy youngsters Dean Sinclair and Joe Lewis, aswell as the likes of Clint Easton and Jim Brennan.

Let's hope they all are fit and well before Saturday and that Norwich will bounce back with 3 points at Rotherham.
