Hefty profit on Safri?

Norwich midfielder Youssef Safri could be on his way back to the Midlands as a West Bromwich Albion player, according to reports.

With local press in the Birmingham area touting the Moroccan international as a future Baggies player, a figure of £1.5million has now been attached to the speculation. Tony Mowbray is expected to be flush after the pending sales of the likes of Jason Koumas, Dionmansy Kamara, Zoltan Gera, Paul Robinson and Paul McShane to a variety of Premiership clubs for a hefty ransom.

Safri has been a crucial player for the Canaries, but has already effectively been replaced by bruising Frenchman Julien Brellier's signing from Hearts. With the player past his 30th birthday, prone to injury, and unavailable at various points in the coming season owing to religious and international commitments, a 200% profit on the £500,000 Nigel Worthington paid Coventry would surely represent good business.
