Norwich City striker Grant Holt says he had made a deal with midfielder Wes Hoolahan to take over penalty duties.Holt stepped up to convert in Tuesday's 3-2 win at Leicester after Hoolahan missed his second spot kick of the season against Preston on Saturday.
"Me and Wes had an agreement when I signed that he takes them and I'm second," Holt told BBC Radio Norfolk.
"The other week when he missed I said 'you've got one more chance'. He missed last week so I've taken over."
Hoolahan, 28, missed a penalty against league leaders QPR in October, a game which finished goalless.
And, despite netting four of his 10 goals from the spot this season, the Irishman came unstuck when trying to convert a penalty with a delicate chip against Preston at the weekend.
That lead to 29-year-old Holt taking over the duties against the Foxes in a game Hoolahan scored with a header.
"Wes was fine, we always had that agreement, I never wanted him to miss and he knows that," added Holt.

"He was the first to say 'great pen' when they came over.

"You've seen how good he is for us, how much we need him, it's a rarity that he pops up and scores with a header.
"But he was fantastic the way he ran and got in different areas in the first half."
