But there was unease among supporters as City were held 1-1 by Doncaster.

"For fans to boo a little when we're keeping the ball, keeping them running around, that's a bit disappointing," Holt told BBC Radio Norfolk.

"They'll go away and grumble with a point but I'm sure they'd have taken that eight months ago."

Holt, 29, admitted that taking a point against a side who had won once in their last nine league games was not ideal.

It just shows the standard we've set, we're a team in a good position, and sometimes I think people forget what we've done in the last eight months

But he added that his side's disappointment only further highlighted the progress they have made.

"It says a lot about from where we've come," he said. "Sometimes you've got to look back to where this club was.

"Even before last year when they were relegated and fighting at the bottom of the league.

"It just shows the standard we've set, we're a team in a good position and sometimes I think people forget what we've done in the last eight months."

The former Shrewsbury frontman took his goal tally for the season to 15 with the opening strike at Carrow Road.

And after a frustrating start to the campaign, which saw him net just three league goals in the first three months of the season, he feels he is back on track.

"It's nice to get on a roll and get the goals going, but it would have been even sweeter to get the three points today," he said.

"I was a little slow at the start of the season, and I'm sure people are starting to see the best again."
