Glenn Roeder's excellent relationship with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger could see another promising Gunner arrive at Carrow Road on loan next term.

Roeder, who secured Kieran Gibbs for the second half of last season, is reported by today's Sun and Daily Star newspapers to be fighting Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock for the loan of 17-year-old Gavin Hoyte for next season.

Hoyte, whose older brother Justin is in the Arsenal first team squad, captained the under-18 side as well as appearing in 12 reserve games last season. He was also named as a substitute for the FA Cup Fifth Round replay at Blackburn Rovers.

The defender, who can play at full back or in the centre of defence, has featured for the first team in a friendly, and is expected to follow the likes of Johan Djourou and Nicklas Bendtner in seeking a loan to the Championship to gain experience to push himself closer to the first team.
