Hucks off

The agent of Norwich forward Darren Huckerby has confirmed that the player will not be staying at Carrow Road beyond the end of this season.

Huckerby, who was linked with a switch to Major League Soccer in the United States during the January transfer window, has vowed not to play for another club in England once his Norwich contract expires. The MLS seems a likely destination with Toronto FC, where former Canary Carl Robinson now plies his trade, said to be interested.

Phil Smith, a director of First Artists, told the Pink 'un, "He's out of contract at the end of the season and he won't be staying at Norwich. There have been no discussions over a new contract. Darren's shown a lot of respect to Norwich by saying he won't play for another English club, he's being very respectful."

On the MLS link, Smith said, "It's an option, certainly. I know he likes the idea of the challenge."

Smith also denied Huckerby would be hanging up his boots though, saying "No, he's not going to be doing a Dennis Wise or anything like that."
