Hucks set for North East return?

Norwich forward Darren Huckerby could be set for a move to back to the North East, where he played for Newcastle under Kevin Keegan, with Roy Keane's Sunderland.

Keane has already brought in goalkeeper Darren Ward and midfielder Dickson Etuhu from Norwich, and would be able to secure Huckerby on a free transfer.

Huckerby's Norwich career looks to be at an end with his contract expiring in the summer and no sign of an agreement for a player who made his 200th Canaries appearance against Ipswich recently.

It had been said by the former Leeds, Coventry and Manchester City winger's agent that he would not play for another English club after Norwich, with the MLS in America looking like a preferred choice.
