Injured Robinson likely to stay at City

Nigel Worthington's long-term midfield options were boosted today when Mick McCarthy said that he expected Carl Robinson to become a permanent fixture at Carrow Road.

Robinson, a Welsh international, joined the Canaries from the Black Cats on a loan deal in November, but sustained a rib injury in the new year clash with Preston and is expected to be out for several more weeks. All sides are still keen on progressing the deal within the current transfer window, however, according to McCarthy.

" β€œI've spoken to Robbo and he is feeling a bit better," said the former Republic of Ireland manager. "He's done really well for Norwich, as he did for us in the Championship, and I think his move there will go through.

β€œHe would like to move there and it would suit us all if that happens. Norwich want to sign him and I think that will go through.”

If Robinson were to sign on, he would join fellow loanee Dickson Etuhu as transfer window signings as Carrow Road, with a number of other arrivals reportedly in the pipeline.
