Iversen link resurfaces

Former Tottehham and Wolves striker Steffen Iversen has been the subject of a renewed approach from Norwich, according to reports.

The Canaries, then managed by Glenn Roeder, made a big play for 32-year-old Iversen in the summer, only to be scuppered by Rosenborg's ongoing involvement in the UEFA Cup.

Now Bryan Gunn, who would have been involved the first time round as Head of Player Recruitment, is back as Manager to try to secure the Norwegian International. Iversen's English wife is keen to return to Britain, and Rosenborg were reported in the summer to have an agreement to allow their main striker to leave.

Christian Ediem, Iversen's adviser, expects Norwich to return with a new bid this weekend, having had one rejected already in January.
