"The club has met with Darren's representatives and it soon became very clear that he wanted to wait and review all his options at a later stage," said manager Nigel Worthington.
"I respect Darren's right to explore all his options under the present Bosman Ruling.
"Obviously I would like him to stay with Norwich City and he may well do."
