Norwich City will be without midfielder Simon Lappin and striker Chris Martin for several weeks after both failed to play in Saturday's 2-2 draw at Leeds.Martin, 22, has a hamstring problem while 28-year-old Lappin has undergone surgery for appendicitis.
"Simon, we'll have to see how he's feeling. Chris will be out for a few weeks I think," boss Paul Lambert told BBC Radio Norfolk.
The Canaries manager is hopeful of adding a loan signing swiftly.
And something could be in place before Tuesday's Championship clash with Doncaster.
On the injured pair he added: "Chris hurt himself on Thursday, which is a blow for us. Simon was taken to hospital Friday night with appendicitis.
"He had problems with his stomach the other day in training, but didn't really know what it was.
"He wasn't too bad travelling but Friday night it really flared up and your appendix, as everybody knows, if they burst you're in trouble."
Martin has scored six times in 32 games this season while Lappin's versatility has been important to the Canaries.
The Scot has played left midfield, central midfield and left-back during his 27 appearances this term.
Lambert already had to deal with last week's news that defender Leon Barnett will be out for the rest of the season.
The defender is seeing a surgeon on Monday to assess the extent of his hamstring injury.
