Loan striker to stay?

On-loan Wigan Athletic striker Antoine Sibierski could stay at Carrow Road with Wigan set to offer Glenn Roeder the chance to secure a permanent deal for the Frenchman.

Sibierski has had a stop-start career during his loan spell with Norwich, hitting the target twice on his debut but struggling with niggling injuries since then. His loan deal runs out in January and, with Wigan boss Steve Bruce keen to bolster his squad with new signings the veteran former Newcastle and Manchester City man could be allowed to leave to make space on the payroll.

Whether the Canaries would be able to afford a permanent deal for Sibierski is another matter, with intimations that there would be no money to spend in January. Sibierski is Roeder's only target man, however, so could be seen as a necessary expense.
