Lucky break for Greeno

Norwich City goalkeeper Robert Green should be able to look forward to being part of Sven Goran Eriksson's World Cup party after an injury to Liverpool rival Chris Kirkland.

Kirkland, on a season-long loan at West Bromwich Albion, has suffered a series of injuries, the latest of which, a broken finger, looks to have ruled him out of a trip to Germany.

Kirkland, Green and David James have been fighting for the two spots as understudy to Spurs number one Paul Robinson, but Green and Manchester City man James should be able to cancel any holiday plans for June.

Green will have to shelve any thoughts of featuring at the very highest level for the moment, however, as he prepares to take on Burnley at Turf Moor tonight. The Sky cameras will be in attendance as the Canaries hope to continue their unlikely march on the play-offs with another victory.
