New Norwich signing Dean Marney is looking forward to playing a vital role for the Canaries in the coming campaign.

The 21-year-old moved to Carrow Road this week in a season long switch from Spurs, where he saw few first team opportunities following several summer signings including Dutch star Edgar Davids.

Marney told the official Norwich City FC website that he was impressed by the club's set-up and anticipated forming a beneficial partnership with hotshot striker Dean Ashton.

The winger, who scored twice on his Spurs debut against Everton last season, looks set to go straight into the team for Saturday's opener against Coventry City. Despite having only trained with Nigel Worthington's men a couple of times, Marney is fighting fit after playing an important part in Spurs' successful Peace Cup campaign in South Korea.
