McKenzie Scores For Reserves

McKenzie has been limited to just 3 breif substitute appearances since Norwich's 4-4 draw against Rotherham.

McKenzie played 60 minutes and I'm sure was happy with the way things worked out for him.

His goal came after just 15 minutes when a throw in from Keith Briggs found McKenzie who held the ball up, before turning his marker and striking with his left foot to beat the Keeper.

Just before the interval Norwich went 2-0 up when Ryan Jarvis calmly slotted past the keeper after intercepting a pass. This was Jarvis's second game back since his ankle injury and he like McKenzie, will look to stake his claim for a first team appearance.

Norwich's lead was halved when Rob King angled a header past Paul Critchon 5 minutes after half time.

Performances of note came from Olly Willis who was playing an unfamiliar left back role but performed superbly. Jack Osborne also impressed on his reserve team debut.

Norwich Res: Crichton, Briggs, Willis, Sinclair, Halliday, Osborne, Blackburn (Howlett 71), McKenzie (Crow 60), Jarvis, Easton, Smith (Eagle 87). Subs not used: Herbert, Howell.

Colchester Res: Gerken, White, Elokobi, Pond (Bailey 41), Crouch, Richards, Toney, King, Guy, Green (Wareham 52), Johnston (Lee 65). Subs not used: Moxom, Cousins.
