Norwich captain Mark Fotheringham has agreed a one year deal to stay at the club.

Fozzy, 24, had been weeks away from the end of the deal he signed in January 2007 to end a spell as a free agent after spells with FC Arnau, SC Freiburg and Dundee followed his beginnings at Glasgow giants and newly crowned Scottish Premier League Champions Celtic.

Despite having been signed by his predecessor Peter Grant, Norwich boss Glenn Roeder has made Fotheringham an integral part of his side, handing him the captain's armband early on in his reign.

The Scot joins youngster Robert Eagle in committing his future to the club. Defender Gary Doherty is the main concern now for Roeder, who faces a busy summer of recruitment ahead of his first full season in charge of the Canaries.
