New and old faces likely to feature at Fakenham

The Norwich XI travelling the short hop to Fakenham tonight looks likely to feature some familiar, some unfamiliar, and some slightly older faces.

Matthew Gill, City's midfield signing from Exeter, could feature in the same town he went to school in. It would represent his Norwich debut ahead of a season in which the 29-year-old is expected to play an important role for his home county's top club.

Paul McVeigh is another face well known to Norfolk, and is expected to play a part. McVeigh is training with Bryan Gunn's men although he is currently under no contract having left Luton Town. A few eye-catching performances in pre-season could secure a permanent deal back at Carrow Road.

Another player trying to earn a deal is Scott Neilson, on trial from Cambridge. The winger will be keen to impress ahead of a potential transfer.
