Norwich City chief executive David McNally says postponing Tuesday's clash with Doncaster would set a "dangerous precedent" in football.The comments follow Rovers chairman John Ryan's claim it would be "unfair" for the game to be played, as Doncaster have 14 players out injured.
But McNally told BBC Radio Norfolk the match would definitely be going ahead.
"There is nothing in the Football League's rules that would allow them to call the game off," he said.
"Even if there was something within the regulations that allowed the game to be called off, what a tragic, dangerous precedent for the game that would be.
"There would be cases being made on a daily basis by clubs, heart-wrenching stories from clubs on injury problems. And it would be a farce."

However Ryan insists Doncaster, whose injury list includes key players Billy Sharp, James Hayter and James Coppinger, are suffering exceptional hardship.
"I said to the Football League 'do you really think that's fair on the paying public?'," he explained.
"I wanted them to cancel the match.
"It's an unbalanced an unfair game. We're talking 13 or 14 players out here of a 25-man squad, with players hardly fit on the bench.
"I think it's about time football should stop being a dog eat dog situation, which it is in the Championship, and should apply more sporting rules."
McNally admitted he understood Ryan's frustration, but reaffirmed that injuries were part of the game.
"We have real sympathy with any team that have the injuries that Doncaster face," he added.
"I can recall games this season when we've had eight, nine or 10 players out for a fixture through illness, injury or suspension.
"Rest assured this is a tough, tough game. Anyone who travelled to Doncaster away will realise we were beaten by a really good team."
Doncaster are in freefall after winning once in their past nine league games while City have lost just once in their previous 11 league encounters.
