Norwich reveal summer friendlies

Norwich City will pit their wits against Premier League sides Everton and Newcastle before the start of their season back in the Championship.Manager Paul Lambert told the Canaries' official website: "It's about getting fit and the two Premier League clubs will be terrific for us."

There will not be a pre-season tour but the team will travel to Germany for a private training camp in July.

The Canaries' pre-season fixture list begins against Dereham Town on 10 July.

Along with the high-profile opponents who visit Carrow Road, City will also play a number of lower-league teams in the build up to next season.

A Norwich XI will play the newly formed King's Lynn Town on 13 July with a stronger side travelling to Stevenage Borough and Dagenham & Redbridge on the 20th and 22nd respectively.

"The lower-league games are a different type of football and won't be easy," said Lambert.
