Norwich v Scunthorpe

Last updated : 01 April 2011 By BBC Sport

Scunthorpe midfielder Garry Thompson has had further groin surgery and will not feature again this season.

Keeper Joe Murphy (ankle) could return, but Marcus Williams (back), Mark Duffy and Lee Miller (both groin) are doubts.

MATCH PREVIEW

Of the 12 previous matches between these clubs, Norwich have won four, Scunthorpe have won four, and four have been drawn. And each of the clubs has netted 17 times. But there the similarities between them end.

Second-placed Norwich are on course for a return to the top flight, while second-from-bottom United are managerless, have lost six of their last seven matches, and are on course for a return to League One. A defeat on Saturday would equal a 38-year-old club record of nine consecutive league losses.

The Iron have lost 12 of their 17 league games in 2011, failing to score in 11 of them, including the last three.?In fact they have failed to?score in 19 of their matches this season - more than any other team.

Norwich, on the other hand, have lost only one of their 17 league games since the turn of the year, and have had no problems in attack. Unbeaten in eight, City have had more attempts on goal this term than any other side in the division and have failed to score in only four of their 38 league matches.
