Norwich are among a trio of clubs said to be tracking Hartlepool midfielder Gary Liddle.
Liddle has impressed West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Mowbray, particularly when he saw his Premier League side go down 3-1 at Victoria Park in the Coca Cola Cup.
Norwich are likely to already be aware of the 22-year-old's talents, however, as Canaries coach Paul Stephenson would have worked with the former trainee before his switch to Carrow Road last term.
Sheffield United make up the chasing pack, with a January move expected for the youngster, who is approaching his 100th appearance for the Monkey Hangers.
