Burly Icelandic forward Heidar Helguson is the latest name to be linked to the vacant target man role in Glenn Roeder's Norwich side.

Helguson, who turned 31 this week, is currently behind Kevin Davies, Mustapha Riga and Johan Elmander in the pecking order at Bolton and could leave the Reebok in August, with the Championship the most likely destination for the former Watford and Fulham man.

Despite falling short of six feet in height, the Icelandic international has the physical presence and aerial ability Roeder is looking for to complement his exisiting striking trio of Jamie Cureton, Omar Koroma and Arturo Lupoli, who bagged a crucial brace to gain the Canaries a point at Cardiff yesterday.

Norwich have been linked with former Spurs and Wolves man Steffen Iversen and Bury striker Andy Bishop. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is currently training with the side but is short of fitness. Helguson has experience at Championship level and could slot straight into Roeder's line-up in tome for the clash with Birmingham.
