Renton on the mend

Seventeen-year-old Canaries striker Kris Renton, Norwich's youngest ever player, could earn a professional contract as he continues his recovery from injury.

Renton, who suffered a double leg fracture in October, is back in training at the club and boss Glenn Roeder will consider offering him a new deal when he returns to fitness.

"He's running around the training ground at the moment. I've seen him in the last couple of weeks. He's a big, strong lad," said Roeder.

"After having a double fracture he's carrying a little bit of a limp at the moment, which is to be expected, but I'm looking forward to seeing him in pre-season and I hope we can make an early decision about offering him a pro contract."
