The Sunday Sun reports that Harte, freed by Sunderland after failing to force his way into Roy Keane's first team following his move from Levante, is a target for Glenn Roeder. Harte was originally touted as a potential summer recruit in April, when he was linked with both Norwich and Ipswich. His subsequent release makes the move all the more likely.
Harte would provide crucial cover down the left side, where Roeder has lost loanees Mo Camara and Ryan Bertrand, as well as Darren Huckerby further forward.
